Brandmarks vs Simple Icons

Choose a flexible SVG icon library or a prepared collection of company logos and marks.

Simple Icons is an excellent starting point when you want SVG brand icons to use in your own code. Its package and CDN options, color metadata, and recolorable artwork cover many interface needs.

If the brands you need are included and an icon is the right shape for your layout, Simple Icons may be all you need.

Where Brandmarks adds something different

Some projects need more than one shape of artwork. A stock table might use a square mark, while the company page or presentation needs the full logo. Brandmarks pairs those variants on consistent canvases and provides company lookup by supported ticker, domain, or ID.

You can also choose a prepared presentation: color, white, solid black, or contrasting artwork on the company’s primary-color panel. See the treatments together.

With Simple Icons, you can recolor an icon and supply your own background. Brandmarks brings the artwork variants, company mapping, and presentation choices into one workflow.

Which approach fits?

Choose Simple Icons when you want a flexible icon library and prefer to manage layout and identity mapping in your application. Its existing package workflow may fit naturally into your build.

Consider Brandmarks when you need both full logos and marks, or when supported ticker/domain lookup and ready-made treatments are useful. You can try known public files without a key; lookup and company metadata require beta API access.

Brandmarks has no official SDK package or self-service API dashboard yet. Its catalog may not include every company you need, and black and brand-panel API treatments currently require SVG.

Check the Brandmarks catalog and try a few assets alongside your current icons. There is no need to replace an icon library that already does the job.
