Brandmarks as a Clearbit Logo API alternative

A focused replacement for retired Clearbit logo URLs when company images are all you need.

The practical answer

If you used Clearbit for logo images, check catalog coverage first. A migration to Brandmarks needs new image URLs, a beta API key, and explicit handling for missing companies.

Clearbit’s public Logo API made a common task simple: give it a domain and display the company’s logo. The service was retired on December 8, 2025, according to Clearbit’s sunset announcement.

If that image was the only part of Clearbit your project used, Brandmarks may be a useful replacement for companies in its catalog. Preview sample images publicly or request beta access for full-catalog and domain-based lookup.

Keep a simple logo workflow

A logo beside a customer name or a stock ticker can be a small, self-contained feature. Brandmarks supplies full logos and square marks, matching color and white artwork, and standard canvases for repeated layouts.

If you also rely on company enrichment or buyer-intent data, you will still need a provider for those features. Clearbit’s transition guidance points users toward HubSpot’s data products. Brandmarks replaces only the logo portion of that workflow.

Preview a sample image

The sample set includes Apple. Other full-catalog image requests require API beta access.

<img
  src="https://img.brandmarks.dev/logos/v1/mark/AAPL.png"
  alt="Apple" width="64" height="64"
  style="object-fit:contain"
/>

See public previews for the small public sample set. Use the API for any other supported company.

For domain lookup: use the beta image endpoint

An old URL such as https://logo.clearbit.com/apple.com can be replaced with:

<img
  src="https://brandmarks-api.brandmarks-web.workers.dev/v1/logo/apple.com?token=YOUR_PUBLISHABLE_KEY&amp;format=png&amp;variant=mark"
  alt="Apple" width="64" height="64"
  style="object-fit:contain"
/>

Request beta access and replace the placeholder with your Brandmarks publishable key. Routes, keys, and parameters differ from Clearbit, so update the complete URL.

What to check before switching

  • Your company list. Brandmarks resolves companies already in its catalog; it does not discover new logos on demand.
  • The destination. Choose PNG for spreadsheets and email. SVG is useful in compatible browsers and presentation tools.
  • Missing images. Unknown companies return 404 by default. The optional monogram fallback is SVG, even when the request asks for PNG.
  • Your traffic. Public previews are limited to samples; full-catalog API access is in invite-only beta and uses account quotas.

For a production replacement that needs more identifier types or platform features, Logo.dev and Brandfetch are worth considering. Brandmarks is a narrower option when the catalog fits and you want a consistent set of artwork.
